Employer Branding and Living the brand

Client
Water Corporation provides sustainable water services to over a million properties in cites, towns and communities spread over 2.5 million square kilometres in Western Australia.

Business focus
To re-energise the corporation values and develop an employer brand to support its organisational culture change program and internal communications.

Our solution
UffindellWest developed a relevant and engaging employer brand that aligned to, and supported, the organisation’s business direction. Elements also contributed to the development of the external brand. What our work involved:

  • researching and analysing internal and external surveys, corporate communications, competitors, internal initiatives and planning documents
  • conducting one-one-one interviews with internal stakeholders and those involved in organisational culture change
  • developing a workshop and plan to define the brand model in conjunction with regional and local branches, testing the model and achieving sign-off
  • developing the brand’s creative expression through the idea of living and embedding our values
  • evolving an interactive workshop and accompanying DVD to tell the story of how the values were developed to help employees translate them into day-to-day behaviour
  • rebranding and launching internal communications to support the new employer brand
  • supporting a task force of senior executives and key stakeholders to establish the brand
  • developing a platform to attract new employees to the Corporation.

Results

  • Creating an internal brand model and refreshing the values led to an organisation-wide understanding of the brand, its values and the expected behaviours around it
  • Established buy in from internal brand champions, which led to the successful transfer of brand knowledge, management and ownership to the client.
